The toxic plaque which is called amyloid protein intermesh with misshaped tangles in the neurons...adhere and accumulate...resulting in miss signals and eventually...no signals. In addition to the plaques and tangles, free radicals are the enemy. They are unbalanced oxygen molecules and attach themselves to healthy molecules stealing their energy. The result of this theft compounds itself and eventually the bad out weighs the good molecules' ability to protect themselves.
